Two men have suffered burns during an attack at a gay pub in Leicester, PinkPaper.com can report.

Police said inquiries were at an early stage but they believe a fire was lit in the beer garden of the Rainbow and Dove pub, the BBC report.

A man, 22, and a 20-year-old man were injured in the assault at the pub in Charles Street at about 00:40 BST and taken to Nottingham City Hospital.

A 24-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the attack and remains in police custody.

Det Insp Simon Preston said: "This was a horrific incident which has resulted in one person receiving significant burn injuries and the other with injuries to his hands."
