The Twitter account of the person or people who made chilling comments about the death of Stuart Walker appears to have been deleted.
The Twitter account of the person or people who made chilling comments about the death of Stuart Walker appears to have been deleted.

As we reported earlier today, one person – who alleges to be from Liverpool and goes by the name of Jay Miller – used social networking site Twitter to claim Walker's horrific death was "great", adding: "better [he's] dead now than infecting people with Aids [sic]".

Stuart Walker, 28, was found dead at the side of a road with "horrible injuries" just before 5am on Saturday. He is thought to have been set alight and may have been sexually assaulted.

Now, after our lead story was re-Tweeted directly at the user – whose address was @Mabsmiller – the account no longer appears in search results or via previously active links.

It is not yet clear whether the profile was deleted by the user or by administrators at Twitter HQ.

The account's recent messages sparked anger and disgust amongst the community. One said: "Stuart Walker was a walking sponk bag [sic] may he rot in hell the crispy skinned twat!! Hahaha".

Another stated: "bastards could of waited until the 5th gonna have to find another guy to throw on my bonfire hahahha crispy skinned queer".

Two more followed – "wooooooooooo hahaha rot in hell Stuart walker you cum stained crispy skinned bum nut!!!!" and "burn baby burn!!! Woo Stuart walker got what he deserved burn in hell aids scum wooooooooo".

Hate speech laws in England and Wales forbid any communication interpreted as "hateful, threatening, abusive, or insulting" which targets a person's sexuality.
