Rick Santorum — Live From a Gay Bar — Gets Bullied?
By Lucas Grindley"We’ve been hammered by the left for my standing up for the traditional family and I will continue to do so," Santorum said, according to The Hill. "The left, unfortunately, participates in bullying more than the right does. They say that they’re tolerant, and they’re anything but tolerant of people who disagree with them and support traditional values."
Santorum was reacting to a Saturday Night Live sketch that satirized the most recent Republican debate on Bloomberg television. Seating was chosen based on poll numbers. And so SNL had Herman Cain at the center of the table ("I'm as surprised as you," he said), Michele Bachmann in a janitors closet, Ron Paul in the parking garage, and Rick Santorum?
"And live from a crowded gay bar in the Castro district of San Francisco — Rick Santorum," the mock host announced before cutting to the antigay former Pennsylvania senator squeezed uncomfortably in between bar-goers.
Anderson Cooper, who has reported in depth about bullying following the death of Jamey Rodemeyer, will host the next Republican debate on Tuesday night on CNN.
