Dad Takes Pregnant Kid to Marry Rapist

An Idaho man will spend four months in prison after taking his pregnant 14-year-old daughter to Missouri to marry the 24-year-old man who had sex with her. According to the Associated Press, the girl’s father said he believed the man should marry his daughter after impregnating her. The teenager and the man reportedly told family members they wanted to be married, with the girl also claiming she did not want the child to grow up under split custody. The father of the unidentified teenager pleaded guilty to injury to a child and will spend 120 days behind bars, in addition to three years of supervised probation. The 24-year-old statutory rapist was sentenced in April to 15 years in prison, and will serve at least three before becoming eligible for parole.
